Holding a BS from Northwestern University School of Communications and a Masters in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, Quigley began her career as a freelance journalist for national magazines and landed her first full-time position as Executive Editor and then Editor-in-Chief of Southern California’s Valley Magazine.

Quigley next moved to Playboy Enterprises Inc. as Director of Community Relations, West Coast representative and spokesperson for the Playboy Foundation, reporting directly to President Christie Hefner. She created and supervised major community and charity projects and events, including the Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Awards and the National Freedom of the Press Exhibit Tour, developed in cooperation with the Chicago Public Library. Quigley wrote and produced the foundation’s annual reports, all foundation related press releases, as well as the Freedom of the Press Exhibit’s brochure. As a spokesperson, she gave speeches on behalf of the Foundation and worked with grass-roots organizations developing a wide range of community activities, financial support and public relations programs.

Following her five years at Playboy, Quigley was a supervising account executive at Carl Terzian Associates, Los Angeles, designing company and bank newsletters and public relations campaigns. Her major client was St. John’s Hospital, Santa Monica, where she acted as Publicity and Promotional Advisor for the hospital’s “Annual Jimmy Stewart Marathon.” Quigley worked closely with the hospital board and staff and its marathon celebrity chairmen. She handled all press relations for the event and also developed and supervised an all-star celebrity race to give the marathon some “razzle-dazzle,” which continues successfully to this day.

Quigley was a Senior Account Supervisor at Kip Morrison & Associates, a health, beauty and life enhancement public relations and marketing agency. She organized an introductory American editorial media tour and wrote consumer-oriented articles for LPG, Endermologie, USA, a multi-million dollar French-owned company. She also supervised all public relations for a French corporation, Pevonia Botanica, the largest spa products company in the world in 34 countries.

Quigley is a member of Green Business Networking, an organization in Los Angeles of owners and decision-makers of socially and environmentally consciousness businesses; Environment, California and a Board of Trustee for Yo San University, Los Angeles, CA, an accredited acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine institution. She is the author of five books: A House Divided (Little Brown & Co.), The Story of Pregnancy (Budlong Press), Armed & Female (St. Martin’s Press), Not An Easy Target (Simon & Schuster) and Stayin’ Alive: Armed & Female In An Unsafe World. (Merril Publishing) She is also a co-partner in a natural food supermarket, “Country Sun” located in Palo Alto, CA. An avid reader and student of the world (she lived in Mexico), Quigley golfs, skis and speaks Spanish.
